You must appear in person at this date and time at the Municipal Court, 1315 North 23rd Street, Sheboygan. This is your initial appearance and you will make a plea. Based on your plea of Guilty, No Contest, or Not Guilty, the court will direct you what to do next.

NON-MANDATORY

If you wish to plead Guilty or No Contest, you must enter this plea in either one of the following two ways:
  • Pay your fine within 3 business days prior to your court date. You will not need to appear in court on the date entered on the citation. The court will enter a plea of No Contest and find you Guilty. You can pay by mail or in person:

DO
NOTHING

If you do none of the above, a default judgment may be entered against you. If you fail to pay a traffic ticket, the court may suspend your driving privileges for up to two (2) years. If you fail to pay a non-traffic citation, the court may enter an order of commitment or community service for a period of time equal to one day for each $30 that remains unpaid.

Any additional questions can be directed to the Municipal Court at (920) 459-0212.

DRIVING
RECORD POINTS

I'm worried about the points to be assessed against my driving record. How do I know if I'm in point trouble?

If you are found guilty of a traffic violation, your driving record may be charged with demerit points. The court will not determine the number of points assessed against your record. The court will merely report the conviction to the Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles and the DMV will assess the number of points against your record, depending on the charge.

The point schedule below lists common traffic violations. Other violations, not listed may also carry points. If you accumulate 12 points against your driving record within a one-year period by the date of violations, your license will be suspended or revoked.
