What is Exploring:

Exploring is part of the Learning for Life career education program from young men and women who are 14 (and have completed eighth grade) or 15 through 20 years old. Exploring's purpose is to provide training and experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and sponsoring organizations in their communities. Exploring is a national program that has been in existence for over 50 years. Just as there are many types of vocations/careers - there are many types of Explorer Posts. Although each post will have varying training and experience, there are five areas of emphasis: career opportunities, life skills, service learning, character education, and leadership experience.
